Atrophy of the cerebral parenchyma. The reasons for parenchyma damage are age, accompanying pathologies, that affect the brain directly or indirectly as well as genetic and environmental factors. Atrophy of the brain parenchyma can be induced by poor nutrition of the neurons, as the parenchyma is the most susceptible to hypoxia and poor nutritive supply.
